You probably want to look into Ångström. http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/

Generally (unless things have changed much), upgrading a Z involves copy root.img and zImage onto a CF card, and then rebooting while holding down a couple of keys. There are probably instructions on that site.

Also, Wikipedia suggests that you treat your C860 as a C760 (certainly for the purposes of getting things installed).

Ultr@VNC is the business. Not only does it (claim to) have better compression than standard VNC (I only ever seem to see it in hextile mode, but then I do mostly use it over LANs), but the MS-LOGON authentication is great. Turn it on, allow “Authenticated Users” View access et voila! Peep show desktop!

My fileserver currently has 320GB of storage shared :)

When the parts become available, I’m going to grab a couple of MiniSAN enclosure, a couple of TB hard disks, and build myself a SAN :) Then start doing what gave my music collection a boost, to my video collection - ripping from disk :)

I know that I’ve agreed with you before on this very issue, but it does not hurt to agree again. Apple has really let me down on this one.

I’ve been having problems with the iPhone and Applications. The Application Store tells me that I have updates that I can’t seem to download and install. Many applications just simply crash on me.

MobileMe has been a big disappointment. I can no longer copy large files to my iDisk as it crashes after a certain file size or data transfer ratio has been achieved (I need to do some more trouble shooting). Contacts and MobileMe are not friendly at all (I have to keep re-syncing them from every device to get them to my iPhone) and don’t even get me started on Exchange Email…

So yeah, we feel your pain.

I mean, what ARE people across Europe voting on? I thought the three classic voting threads were “Music”, “Dance” and “Costume”. Wolves of the Sea was clearly the best in all three there. The music was bouncy and fun (OK, perhaps other people like something classier), the dance was so much more energetic than most (I mean, some people didn’t move at all!) and the costume? Well, their only real rivals there were Bosnia/Herz.

How on Earth Russia, with their drab song, drab clothing and half-hearted dance managed to beat the Pirates of the Sea is beyond me.

We demand a recount.

Actually, you are not the only one having problems with credit cards and .mac. There seems to be lots of issues with the services associated with .mac, like Back To My Mac (or Beta Test Mass Market), sync services, and iTunes. To their defense they are doing a major update here in the states.

And you should take the support team to court as it sounds like they are very incapable!

Silly Fox. There is a way to fix that problem that is undocumented. You need to go into your ~\Library\Application Support folder and delete some of the .sync files. This will force it to resync and put eveything back in order.

If you want step-by-step instructions, drop me in IM!

I’ve foxed that problem several times this year!

*Giggles* I bought the family pack for delivery last Friday at 10:30 AM EST. It arrived 30 minutes late. I’ve updated four of the five machines I own. Only one gave me some problems, and that is because the application Lotus Notes has not been updated since 2005… everything else is wonderful, and iChat is amazing in this version!

Yeah, picture messages within the SMS application would be a good thing. It does allow you to e-mail pictures directly from the Photo Application, I suppose you could e-mail it to someone’s phone’s e-mail account, but that is far more steps than simple SMS picture messaging.

Anyway, I’ve got an iPhone and love it. I wish it had real iChat though.
